In One Hundred Pages

In One Hundred Pages

I’m really excited to announce my very special upcoming project:

In One Hundred Pages

This is a dedicated book project to motivate you to design a book in time for the Holidays.

I hear from people all the time that say they want to make a photo book but don’t know where to start or get overwhelmed by how many photos they have.

Here is the secret:

Clarity.

That’s why I named this project In One Hundred Pages. It starts to define your project – your goal. But it takes more than defining the number of pages to avoid photo book overwhelm.

So, I’m offering free training to get you started. To gain access to my training, simply sign up for my free photo book club. Or check out my In One Hundred Pages website and sign up there!

Then in November, I’ll open up a mini-workshop where I’ll map out the entire book design process in a format that is:

  • easy to digest (won’t take hours to read),
  • very informative (outlines exactly what you need to know), and
  • extremely fun (with conversation, sharing, contests, and discounts).

I hope you’ll join me!!! I can’t wait to see your finished photo book!

Kid’s Practice Sheets: Spider Web

It’s time for another pdf download for your kids to practice writing, matching, and coloring based on favorite children’s books. (My last one was here.)  In our household, we’ve been reading a lot of Eric Carle’s The Very Busy Spider. So…I decided to create a free pdf download for you to work through with your child.

This pdf includes ways for kids to practice writing, matching words, finding words, forming sentences and coloring. Plus there is an activity to make your own spider web using yarn and glue. It’s a simple diagram, but feel fee to elaborate and make it as creative as you want.

Featured Product: House Built photo book template

Featured Product: House Built photo book template

I’m so excited to share my featured product for May: a photo book template for your child based on the British nursery rhyme, The House that Jack Built.

I love this idea and I know my son will have a fabulous time reading it.

Here is the premise, take objects and details from your son’s or daughter’s life and incorporate them into building narrative. Each page leads into the next. This means family members, stuffed animals, favorite toys and favorite snacks.

alden+blocks_web

In this photo book template, I provide everything you need to create the book.

The narrative, the photo ideas, recommendations for font styles and sizes and an 11 minute video showing you exactly how to use the photo book template for Blurb’s BookSmart.

Here is the last page of my story:

This is the phone that woke up

daddy not shaven or shorn,

who kissed mommy in clothing worn,

who fed Lydia all forlorn,

who loved the elephant with the big, loud horn,

that startled the bear,

who pushed the fire truck,

that carried the cheese,

that lay in the house that Alden built.

Here are all of the photos I used for my son’s book.

Memory Book

Do you have a family member or loved one who has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease?

Are you looking for a way to review treasured family photos with your loved one during visits?

Would love one place to have your favorite photos documenting a beautiful life span?

Then let Book This Project transform your photographs into a custom one-of-a-kind photo book.

My father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease in 2005. Throughout his disease progression, many aspects of his life may have deteriorated but our bond and relationship grew. We spent many afternoons together going over old family photos. Not only did this spark wonderful memories that we could share together but it always gave us something familiar to talk about. We were never for a loss of words or loving glances when we could look at photographs. My father passed away in August of 2012 but his life, memory and love is preserved in a beautiful heirloom.

As the founder of Book This Project, I started this company because I realized how important it is to have your favorite photos all in one place.  Today, we are all so busy, it is hard to print photos or share everyday moments with loved ones. This product is the stress-free solution to accomplish an unbelievably gorgeous, professional photo book.

As creative director, I will personally design your book – each page – to maximize your photographs.

Here is a brief video to show the impact of owning a specially designed photo book.

If you are curious to see a full example, here is the book I created for my dad.
