Workshop Feedback

I would definitely recommend this workshop for someone who has never made books before or who is just intimidated by the process. The workshop walks you through the entire book making process in a slow and methodical manner. There is no excuse for not having a finished book at the end of this workshop, and I personally feel like there is an amazing sense of accomplishment when you turn the pages of your finished book and see all of your own pictures and memories in print.

Couldn’t be happier with my experience! I learned SO much in such a short time. I didn’t want the workshop to end! 🙂

I feel much more relaxed about creating a photo book. I was really intimidated before and, as a result, just kept putting it off. Now, I am working on a small book for my family documenting our vacation and I’m so excited to be able to have it for our family and share it with my inlaws.

I will first say that I am less intimidated about creating photo books now! I used to be so overwhelmed with all of my photos and just felt like I had to throw all of them in a book. Now, with the culling technique you taught us, I can breeze through and really pic images that speak to me and tell my story.

Stacey motivated me to start my book with her class. Even before the class started I bombarded her with questions and she generously answered them ALL; promptly and throughly AND sometimes with video tutorials! Her class allowed me to see creative design options which helped my creative design process.

I love how it helped me have a better workflow. I’m not so frustrated and lost when it comes to blurb. It’s opened a lot of windows

I loved the examples that you shared. It helped give me ideas for what I wanted my book to look like. Also loved the book inspirations. Now I look for inspiration everywhere!!!

Stacey’s flexibility, as well as the many useful book examples. Seeing a full, finished product was great in helping me visualize how I wanted my own completed projects to look.

Money well spent! I would definitely recommend this class. I wasn’t sure about this class and contacted a couple of your prior students who I know through CM. They all said it was a great class and they were right! Thanks Stacey!

This was an awesome workshop, Stacey. You put so much time and energy into making sure each student’s needs are met. You are so knowledgable and never hesitate to share. This class rocks and it is so nice to finally have some of my images placed into a book and ready for print. Thank you.

Class materials were amazing. Being able to see your instructions put to work in a visual was outstanding. The combination of written materials and videos were lovely.

Yes, it opened my eyes to all the things to think about when putting together a book. It also helped give me a regimented approach to designing and executing the book.

Annie Delano

YES! I would highly recommend it. You are walked through the entire process from start to finish, given amazing tools to help you organize and plan your book. I love how accessible Stacey is – so willing to help and answer questions – it’s individualized and personal!

The lessons made my annual photo book seem like a “do-able” project. I liked how everything was broken down into manageable steps.

I feel I have a manageable goal instead of a giant, daunting task to put off indefinitely.

The detailed pdf’s and videos. I’m floored by the amount of detail you included.

I love that I am shooting with a layout in mind. Now that I know how I like the layouts to look, it is a good motivator to vary my shooting angles and orientations! I also know what papers and covers I like best since actually ordering my book itself.

With a little planning and organization, I can actually do this! The thought of creating a book seemed so daunting in the beginning. I am now equipped and inspired to (finally) print years worth of family photos. If I can do it, anyone can!

Megan Dill

Absolutely. It was invaluable. I was so intimidated to do a photobook before this class. Now I feel empowered.

I have become much more strategic and methodical about my approach to designing my photo books. As I became a better photographer, I started thinking much more about my shots before pressing the shutter, and similarly here, I am planning out my books ahead of time, making the execution much easier and the end result more successful, rather than my previous approach of just making a book on the fly.
